Smolenice
 Smolenice spreads on the lovely south-eastern foot of the Small Carpathians.
The village has 3,280 inhabitants and belongs to the Trnava District. Smolenice was first mentioned in 1256 in a document reporting about the villa Solmus. Birthplace of Štefan Banič who was the inventor of the parachute and one of the discoverers of the limestone cave Driny, the only cave located in the Small Carpathians which is open to the public. The village is famous thanks to Smolenice Castle which is open to the public during July and August only. In the village of Smolenice you find accommodations, stylish restaurants serving food and pubs.

Pod malebným juhovýchodným úpätím Malých Karpát sa rozprestiera obec Smolenice.
Má približne 3280 obyvateľov a patrí do okresu Trnava. Smolenice sú po prvýkrát doložené v listine z r. 1256 ako villa Solmus. Smolenice sú rodiskom Štefana Baniča vynálezcu padáka a zároveň spoluobjaviteľa jaskyne Driny, jedinej sprístupnenej jaskyne v Malých Karpatoch. Obec je známa najmä Smolenickým zámkom, ktorý je pre širokú verejnosť prístupný v mesiacoch júl a august. V Smoleniciach je možnosť ubytovania a stravovania v štýlových reštauráciách a baroch. |
Smolenice liegt am malerischen südöstlichen Ausläufer der Kleinen Karpaten.
Der Ort hat rund 3280 Ew. und gehört zum Bezirk Trnava. Smolenice wurde als villa Solmus 1256 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Geburtsort von Štefan Banič, dem Erfinder des Fallschirms und Mitentdecker der Tropfsteinhöhle Driny, der einzigen zugänglichen Höhle der Kleinen Karpaten. Seine Bekanntheit verdankt Smolenice dem gleichnamigen Schloss; dieses ist nur im Juli und August öffentlich zugänglich. Das Dorf Smolenice hat Unterkünfte, nette Restaurants zum Essen und Kneipen. |
