 The municipality of Štrba lies on the foot of the High Tatras.
First time mentioned in 1280, the modern municipality treasures the traditional and cultural values of its ancestors. The convenient location, the large offer of recreation, hiking and sports opportunities, the quality accommodations make Štrba one of the most attractive destinations in Slovakia. Most charming is the lake area of Štrbské Pleso. Noteworthy: from the locality of Tatranská Štrba to Štrbské Pleso travels a rack-railway; Štrba has the highest located train station and lies on the peak of the highway D1; in Štrbské Pleso lies the highest located town hall (1355 m).

Podtatranská obec Štrba (r. 1280) leží na úpätí Vysokých Tatier.
Je to moderná obec, ktorá nezabúda na tradičné kultúrne hodnoty svojich predkov. Výhodnou polohou, bohatými možnosťami rekreácie a turistiky, športového vyžitia a kvalitného ubytovania sa radí medzi veľmi zaujímavé lokality slovenského cestovného ruchu s najkrajšou dominantou obce - Štrbským Plesom. Zaujímavosti: z Tatranskej Štrby (časť obce) na Štrbské Pleso premáva ozubnicová železnica; Štrba má najvyššie položenú železničnú stanicu, v chotári obce je najvyššie položený bod diaľnice D1; na Štrbskom Plese je aj najvyššie položené pracovisko OcÚ - 1355 m n. m. |
